Founded in 1985 by Ann Sutherland, Sutherland Models quickly established itself as an industry powerhouse, developing the careers of some of the world's most iconic faces, including Shalom Harlow. Over the past 40+ years, the agency has continually evolved, expanding its roster to manage a diverse range of categories including Women, Men, New Faces, Curve, and Non-Binary talent.

Always ahead of the curve, Sutherland was at the forefront of embracing the digital revolution. In 2024, Sutherland launched their Creator Division, initially designed to service models with strong potential in the digital space. Since its inception, the division has rapidly expanded to include full-time content creators across the fashion, lifestyle, fitness, travel and sports industries.

As the worlds of fashion, entertainment, and digital media blend seamlessly together, Sutherland has continued its evolution. In June 2026, the agency became The Sutherland Network. This milestone reflects an expansion into three distinctive, powerhouse divisions dedicated to managing momentum for talent across every single space: Sutherland Models, Sutherland Creators, and Primary Artist Management (formerly Kamera Talent).

Do I need experience to be a model?

- Absolutely not! We are looking for fresh faces as well as experienced models. Send us clear digital photos or selfies and we’ll take it from there.

Is there a height requirement to be a model?

- Generally models who are tall are more likely to work in Toronto. We look for female models 5’8” and over, and male models 6’ and over. However there are always exceptions and sometimes models outside of this range can be offered representation.

What are the different types of models?

- Our roster includes women, men, curve, non-binary and trans models on our roster. We are looking for unique individuals who have something special to offer our clients.

What modeling opportunities are there in Toronto?

- Toronto is a great city to work in many different areas of modeling. Our models work in e-commerce, magazines, ad campaigns, fashion shows, tv commercials and social media.

Do Sutherland Models find work internationally?

- We are a Toronto based modeling agency, but our models work in every major international fashion market from New York to Tokyo.

Does an interview to model cost any money?

- No! Please steer clear of any company that charges a fee for an interview or for representation.
